Fryer’s Roadside will reopen on December 8th under new ownership

Fryer’s Roadside reopens Thursday, December 8 with a new menu from Executive Chef Edward Reavis and Jennifer Meltzer, the team behind All Set Restaurant & Bar and Money Muscle BBQ, who bought the Silver Spring-based fried chicken and ice cream stand Sep 2022.

“We’ve worked hard to create a menu that captures the spirit of the restaurant while also showcasing the other things we love to cook, like BBQ,” Reavis said in a press release. “This menu aims to celebrate tasty, southern-inspired home cooking and be accessible to everyone.”

The menu features gluten-free and halal southern fried chicken, including chicken tenders, fried chicken and a fried chicken sandwich (served on a challah bun and topped with dill pickles and coleslaw), all available in classic, spicy and smokin’ options. Hot Spice levels.

There will also be catfish nuggets and a whole fried chicken on the menu. Also new to Fryer’s are side dishes familiar to Money Muscle BBQ customers such as: B. Honey Sriracha Brussels Sprouts, Potato Salad, Mac & Cheese, BBQ Beans, Potato Wedges, Coleslaw, Pickles, and Collards.

Money Muscle BBQ Smokers will be on hand offering a range of BBQ options including Smoked Chicken Wings with your choice of Honey Sriracha or Dry Rub, BBQ Pork Ribs, Texas Brisket and a Cuban Panini with Carolina Pulled Pork, Ham, Pickles , Swiss cheese and homemade Dijonnaise.

“In keeping with the spirit of Fryer’s original menu, guests can enjoy soft serve, milkshakes and sundaes such as the classic Chocolate Fudge Sundae, a Snickers Sundae (Chef Reavis’ take on Fryers original Turtle Sundae) with caramel sauce and Snickers Chunks.” and a peanut butter sundae with peanut sauce, Reese’s Cups and chopped nuts,” reads the press release.

The restaurant at 12830 New Hampshire Ave. is open Tuesday through Thursday from 11am to 8pm, Friday and Saturday from 11am to 9pm, and Sunday from 11am to 8pm for takeout and takeout orders

The new owners also plan to open a 32-seat terrace next year.
